Riebeek Valley Olive Festival in Riebeek Valley
The Riebeek Valley Olive Festival is an annual celebration of the Swartland region's olive, wine, and wheat farming heritage, held each early May around the twin towns of Riebeek West and Riebeek Kasteel near Cape Town, drawing visitors for tastings, farm stalls, and countryside scenery.
The Riebeek Valley, in South Africa's Swartland region north of Cape Town, was first documented by Cape Dutch explorers in the seventeenth century and takes its name from the mountain named after Cape commander Jan van Riebeeck, with permanent settlement following in the early eighteenth century.
