Pohang International Fireworks Festival in Pohang
Pohang's International Fireworks Festival pairs a fireworks competition among international teams with a drone light show, street parade, and local markets along the Hyeongsangang river and northern beach. Held each summer since its 2004 origins as part of Pohang Citizens Day, it has grown into one of Korea's largest fire and light festivals, drawing crowds in the millions.
Pohang built its modern identity around steel, and the city's International Fireworks Festival draws directly on that industrial imagery, pairing displays of fire and light with themes tied to the blast furnaces of its steelworks.
