Fete des Vignerons Vevey in Vevey
The Fete des Vignerons is a UNESCO-recognized winegrowers' festival held in Vevey only five or six times per century, most recently in 2019, called by the Confrerie des Vignerons rather than run on a fixed calendar. When staged, it fills the lakeside market square with a vast theatrical pageant celebrating winegrowing life, performed by thousands of local participants. No new edition is currently scheduled; treat this as background on a rare, generational tradition rather than an annual event.
The Fete des Vignerons is not an annual festival but one of the rarest large-scale events in Europe, staged in Vevey only five or six times each century by the Confrerie des Vignerons, a winegrowers' brotherhood whose roots trace back to the 1600s.
