Gulu City Festival in Gulu

Gulu City Festival, also branded Gulu City Oktoberfest, is Northern Uganda's first large-scale annual cultural and tourism festival, inaugurated October 6-14, 2025, in Gulu City. Organized by the Gulu City mayor's office and the Rotary Club of Gulu City around Uganda's Independence Day, it combines a marathon, cultural dance and craft showcases from multiple Ugandan ethnic groups, and a Bavarian Oktoberfest-inspired trade and hospitality showcase.

The Gulu City Festival, marketed for its inaugural run as Gulu City Oktoberfest, launched in October 2025 as Northern Uganda's first festival of its kind and scale, an explicit attempt by Gulu's city government and the Rotary Club of Gulu City to translate the city's post-conflict recovery into a tourism and trade showcase.
