Roast and Rhyme in Kampala

Roast and Rhyme is a Kampala lifestyle festival launched in 2016 by music label Swangz Avenue, pairing live performances from Uganda's biggest artists with fire-grilled meats, DJs, and fashion. Now past its twentieth edition, each instalment carries its own theme, such as Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam or Soul on Strings, and has rotated between venues including Lugogo Hockey Grounds and Jahazi Pier on Lake Victoria.

Roast and Rhyme started in 2016 as a low-key Sunday hangout organized by Swangz Avenue, the Kampala record label and management company behind some of Uganda's most prominent recording artists.
