Ohio Pawpaw Festival in Albany
The Ohio Pawpaw Festival celebrates the pawpaw, North America's largest native fruit, each September in Athens County, Ohio. Founded in 1999 by Chris Chmiel of Integration Acres, the three-day festival has run at Lake Snowden near Albany since 2001, pairing pawpaw cook-offs and eating contests with live music, an atlatl competition, and a 1790s frontier camp.
Its unusual native fruit theme makes it a standout Ohio food event.
