Oregon Chocolate Festival in Ashland
For more than two decades the Oregon Chocolate Festival has brought artisan chocolatiers, winemakers and flavor crafters from across the West Coast to Ashland each March for a two-day marketplace of tastings, people's choice maker voting and family-friendly chocolate-themed events tied to a rotating annual theme.
Ashland, a southern Oregon town better known nationally for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival than for chocolate, built its own niche culinary event around a single indulgent ingredient more than two decades ago, and the Oregon Chocolate Festival has sustained itself in that specific lane ever since rather than broadening into a general food-and-wine festival that might have diluted its identity.
