Spoonbread Festival in Berea
The Spoonbread Festival is a September weekend festival in downtown Berea, Kentucky, celebrating Appalachian heritage and the region's spoonbread cornmeal dish. Sponsored by the Berea Chamber of Commerce since 1997, it draws over 50,000 visitors for craft and food vendors, live music, hot air balloons, and a classic car show.
Berea, Kentucky, has long carried the title of the folk arts and crafts capital of the state, home to generations of woodworkers, weavers, potters, and other artisans whose work reflects the deep craft traditions of Appalachia.
