Michigan Nordic Fire Festival in Charlotte
The Michigan Nordic Fire Festival brings Viking reenactment battles, blacksmithing demonstrations, archery, axe throwing, and a Friday-night longboat bonfire to the Eaton County Fairgrounds in Charlotte each last weekend of February. Founded in 2016, the three-day event has grown into a crowd of thousands, pairing serious historical craft displays with family-oriented kids' activities and a mead garden.
Vikings converge on the Eaton County Fairgrounds each February for a bonfire built to mark the coldest stretch of the Michigan winter, a tradition the Michigan Nordic Fire Festival has run since founding the event in 2016.
