Toad Suck Daze is Conway's signature spring festival, filling downtown streets the first weekend of May with live music, carnival rides, food vendors, and the festival's trademark toad races. The name Toad Suck Daze traces back to the days when steamboats worked the Arkansas River, and boat crews had no choice but to wait for the water level to rise or fall enough to pass safely through a stretch near what became Toad Suck Park in Perry County.
