North Carolina Potato Festival in Elizabeth City
Originally the Albemarle Potato Festival, the North Carolina Potato Festival ran from 1940 through 1970 before being revived in 2001 and continuing each mid-May in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Designated the state's official Irish Potato Festival in 2009, it celebrates one of northeastern North Carolina's most important historic crops.
Its crop identity and small-city setting make it a strong food row.
