National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores
The Annual National Shrimp Festival fills the beach town of Gulf Shores, Alabama, for four days every October, running since the 1970s as a volunteer-driven project of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. Free to enter, it draws roughly a quarter-million visitors for shrimp cooked in every style, two music stages, a juried art market and a full slate of family activities.
Gulf Shores did not become a shrimp town by accident.
