Kapalua Wine and Food Festival in Kapalua
Established in 1981 by the nonprofit Kapalua Wine Society, the Kapalua Wine and Food Festival is billed as the oldest wine and food festival in the United States. Anchored at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua on the island's northwest corner, the multi-day event, now past its 45th annual edition, brings in celebrity chefs and vintners for tastings, winemaker dinners, and a Grand Tasting Gala, with proceeds supporting the University of Hawaii Maui College culinary program.
Kapalua Resort occupies former pineapple plantation land on Maui's northwest coast, developed in the late twentieth century into one of Hawaii's most established resort destinations.
