Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison

Held the second Saturday of August at Olin Park on Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, Great Taste of the Midwest is the second-longest continuously running craft beer festival in North America, dating to the mid-1980s. Organized by the nonprofit Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild, the outdoor event gathers roughly 200 breweries pouring around 1,400 different beers directly to attendees.

Craft brewing in the United States was still a small, largely homebrew-driven movement when the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild launched Great Taste of the Midwest in the mid-1980s, years before the craft beer industry's later national explosion.
