Bayou Bon Vivant Cajun Music Food and Art Festival in Norfolk
The Bayou Bon Vivant Cajun Music, Food and Art Festival brings Louisiana culture to Norfolk's Town Point Park each May, now in its 36th year. The three-day waterfront event features touring New Orleans musicians, a crafters' arts market, and authentic Cajun dishes such as beignets, gumbo, etouffee, and jambalaya alongside crawfish and other Gulf Coast specialties.
The Bayou Bon Vivant Cajun Music, Food and Art Festival began as an effort to bring a genuine taste of Louisiana culture to a Virginia audience with no obvious geographic connection to the Gulf Coast, an ambitious premise that has nonetheless sustained the festival for 36 years running.
