The Doo Dah Parade in Pasadena
The Doo Dah Parade began in 1978 as an unofficial, absurdist counterpoint to Pasadena's staid Rose Parade, with no themes, no judging, and no corporate sponsorship. Marching through Old Pasadena, its eccentric walking units and homemade floats have earned it a reputation as one of the country's most inventive alternative parades.
Its anti-parade identity makes it a classic Southern California weird event.
