Poteet Strawberry Festival in Poteet
Poteet Strawberry Festival is a three-day April event in Poteet, roughly twenty miles south of San Antonio, founded in 1948 to celebrate the town's status as the Strawberry Capital of Texas. Approaching its eightieth annual edition, it features a King and Queen coronation, grower exhibits, and a carnival, honoring the Missionary strawberry crop first grown successfully there in the 1920s.
Its crop identity and scale make it one of Texas's strongest food-festival rows.
