Mudbug Madness in Shreveport

Mudbug Madness is a Memorial Day weekend crawfish and music festival in downtown Shreveport, running since the mid-1980s. The event pairs crawfish boils and eating contests with multiple stages of live music, drawing north Louisiana crowds for a Cajun-style celebration well outside the traditional Acadiana heartland.

Shreveport sits in Caddo Parish in the far northwest corner of Louisiana, a region culturally and geographically distinct from the Cajun and Creole parishes of Acadiana further south, closer in character to neighboring east Texas and southern Arkansas than to the bayou country most associated with Louisiana's food festival culture.
