Trenary Outhouse Classic in Trenary
The Trenary Outhouse Classic is a winter novelty race held on the last Saturday of February on Main Street in Trenary, a small Upper Peninsula community in Alger County. Two-person teams build outhouses mounted on skis and push them 500 feet down the snowy street, competing across age brackets from young children to seniors, while roughly 4,000 spectators line the route.
Its absurd winter-race format makes it one of Michigan's best weird events.
