Taste of DC in Washington
Taste of DC is the Mid-Atlantic's longest-running culinary festival, founded in 1989 to showcase Washington-area restaurants over a single fall weekend. The event traditionally combines a restaurant row of dozens of local eateries with a themed Oktoberfest beer garden, cooking demonstrations, and Ben's Chili Bowl's long-running chili eating championship.
When Taste of DC launched in 1989, the idea was straightforward: gather the Washington region's restaurants in one place, over one weekend, so residents and visitors could sample a wide range of local cooking without booking a table anywhere.
