Festival del Cacao de Chuao in Chuao
Chuao is a cacao village on the Aragua coast reachable only by boat or a mountain trail, where families still ferment and sun-dry their Criollo cacao beans on the paving stones of the town plaza each harvest, a rhythm that structures local life more than any single dated festival does.
Chuao sits in a narrow valley on Venezuela's central coast, cut off from the highway network by mountains on one side and the Caribbean on the other.
