Festival de la Fresa de la Colonia Tovar in Colonia Tovar
The Festival de la Fresa is a brand-new strawberry harvest festival in Colonia Tovar, Aragua state, first held March 13-15, 2026, celebrating the German-founded mountain town's signature crop with a gastronomic route, hydroponic and organic farming demonstrations, largest-strawberry and best-dessert contests, and German folk dance performances.
Colonia Tovar has spent nearly two centuries as an unusual pocket of German heritage in the Venezuelan mountains, founded in the nineteenth century by settlers from the Black Forest region and still recognisable today in its half-timbered architecture, its cooler Andean-adjacent climate, and its strong local farming tradition.
