Beni Yenni Jewelry Festival in Beni Yenni
The Beni Yenni Jewelry Festival celebrates Ath Yenni's centuries-old tradition of Kabyle silver jewelry, known for filigree work, enamel inlay and large ceremonial pins historically worn by Kabyle women across northern Algeria. Silversmiths from the village display and sell pieces made using techniques passed down through generations of craft families.
Ath Yenni, known in French as Beni Yenni, sits in the rugged Kabylie mountains of Tizi Ouzou province in northern Algeria, and it has held a distinct reputation as Algeria's leading center of silver jewelry-making since at least the nineteenth century.
