DocLuanda - Festival Internacional de Cinema Documental

Angola's dedicated documentary film festival, running annually since 2022 with National and International Competition tracks, screenings across multiple Luanda venues, and the Sarah Maldoror Trophy honoring a leading figure in African documentary cinema each year. At least one recent edition was officially postponed, with a new date announced only later, so current scheduling should be confirmed directly with organizers.

DocLuanda opened in April 2022 with a clear pedagogical mission: use documentary cinema to build cultural exchange and a contemporary understanding of Angola and the world, in a country that, until then, had never had a dedicated documentary festival of its own, only a single earlier general-interest international festival.
