Anguilla Village Street Fair in The Valley
An informal street fair at The Valley's People's Market with live folk music from the string band Anguilla Time, fried fish and johnny cakes cooked on coal-fired car rims, local drinks like mauby and soursop, and handmade crafts including model sailboats and cotton dolls. Held on occasion rather than a fixed date.
At The Valley's People's Market on a Saturday afternoon, the string band Anguilla Time sets up first, and the sound of a guiro being scraped and a homemade ban' pan being struck usually reaches the food stalls before the crowd does.
