Fiesta San Antonio in San Antonio
Fiesta San Antonio is an annual, citywide celebration held each April since 1891, commemorating the Battle of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto that won Texas independence from Mexico. More than three million people attend over roughly ten to seventeen days of events, including parades, music, and food, organized by 100-plus nonprofit groups and around 75,000 volunteers under the Fiesta San Antonio Commission.
Fiesta matters because San Antonio turns civic memory into shared celebration, using parades and neighborhood events to support local causes.
