Queen of Carnival Pageant in Carnival City St. John's
The Queen of Carnival Pageant, one of Antigua Carnival's two founding 1957 competitions alongside Calypso Monarch, crowned Miss Gloria White as its first queen and has grown into the most prestigious pageant title in Antigua and Barbuda, held at Carnival City with contestants judged across Interview, Swimwear, Talent, Carnival Costume and Evening Wear segments, with past winners often going on to sustained public visibility beyond the Carnival season.
The Queen of Carnival Pageant, often simply called the Queen Show, is one of the two founding competitions of Antigua Carnival itself, dating back to the festival's inaugural 1957 edition when the first Carnival Queen show was held at St John's Deluxe Cinema and Miss Gloria White was crowned the island's first Carnival queen.
