Antigua Junior Carnival in St. John's/Carnival City
Junior Carnival, or the Children's Carnival, is Antigua Carnival's dedicated youth day, featuring the Junior Carnival Parade in which children march through St John's in fairy-tale and imaginative costumes with cheerleading routines, finishing at Carnival City, alongside a Prince and Princess competition judging young participants, run largely through local school participation in a family-friendly, mid-morning-to-early-afternoon format.
Junior Carnival, also known as the Children's Carnival, is the day of Antigua Carnival specifically set aside for young people, giving them their own dedicated parade and competition programming in a deliberately family-friendly environment distinct from the adult-oriented events that dominate most of the festival calendar.
