National Pehuen Festival in Alumine

A Patagonian autumn festival in Aluminé, Neuquén, built entirely around the araucaria pine, known as pehuén, a slow-growing conifer central to Mapuche identity and cuisine. Expect a ceremonial tree planting, a horsemen's parade, criollo skill contests and stalls selling piñón-based liqueurs, cakes and alfajores from local cooperatives.
