National Apple Festival in General Roca
General Roca's apple-harvest festival, elevated to national status by presidential decree in 1966 after starting as a provincial law two years earlier. Celebrates the Alto Valle de Río Negro's apple-growing economy each February with a queen coronation, street parade and regional musical programming. The first national edition, held March 26, 1966, featured a shop-window decoration contest and an automobile caravan alongside the parade.
