Carnaval del Pais Gualeguaychu in Gualeguaychu
Argentina's largest purpose-built carnival parade, staged over multiple weekend nights at Gualeguaychú's 25,000-seat Corsódromo. Four historic comparsas — Marí Marí, Papelitos, O'Bahía and Ará Yeví — compete with elaborate costumed floats after a full year of preparation each. The Corsódromo José Luis Gestro venue opened in 1997, formalizing a tradition that traces back to 1977's 'Carnival of the Avenue' street format.
Four comparsas, each backed by a local sports club and a full year of rehearsal, compete along 500 meters of purpose-built runway at Gualeguaychú's Corsódromo: Marí Marí, Papelitos, O'Bahía and Ará Yeví, the historic groups whose costume, choreography and float-building rivalry has defined this Entre Ríos carnival for decades.
