National and International Poncho Festival in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca

Catamarca's provincial fair built around the handwoven Catamarcan poncho, running each July since a 1967 decree. Combines artisan weaving pavilions at the Predio Ferial Catamarca fairground with national and international music stages and regional food courts over roughly ten days. The first Fiesta Nacional del Poncho ran July 5 to 16, 1967, created to elevate the handwoven garment as a symbol of Catamarca's artisanal identity.
