The largest animation festival in the South Caucasus, founded in Yerevan in 2008 by animator Kassouny Vrej, spanning 15 competition sections, a professional market forum called MARANI, and drawing over a thousand annual submissions from filmmakers worldwide. Its industry-focused MARANI forum distinguishes it from festivals built purely around public screenings alone.

ReAnimania International Animation Film and Comics Art Festival of Yerevan was founded in 2008 by cartoonist, painter and animator Kassouny Vrej, building on a national animation heritage that traces back eighty-five years earlier to 1938, when Lev Atamanov's The Dog and the Cat became the first Armenian animated film ever produced.
