Aruba Carnival in Oranjestad/San Nicolas/Noord/Savaneta
Aruba's Carnival season runs for roughly six weeks from early January through Carnival Monday, weaving together youth and adult royalty elections, Tumba and Soca Monarch music contests, neighborhood parades and a pre-dawn Jouvert street jump. It builds to back-to-back Grand Parades in San Nicolas and Oranjestad, making the season one of the Caribbean's most sustained Carnival celebrations.
Aruba's Carnival season stretches across more than a month each year, transforming the island's normal calendar into a rolling sequence of contests, parades and street parties that culminates on Carnival Monday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
