Revelation Perth International Film Festival in Perth
Revelation Perth International Film Festival began in 1997 as an underground screening series in a club basement and has grown into Western Australia's largest and only international film festival. Running twelve days each July across Leederville and North Perth cinemas, it champions independent, experimental and documentary filmmaking, mixing around 170 international films with live-scored screenings, panels and companion art exhibitions.
Revelation Perth International Film Festival began in 1997 in the basement of the Greenwich Club, where founder Richard Sowada and a small crew screened independent features, documentaries and shorts on 16mm film for an audience drawn more by curiosity than marketing.
