The Unconformity is a biennial arts festival in Queenstown on Tasmania's West Coast, built around the town's Mount Lyell mining heritage and its bare, mineral-stained landscape. Growing from the grassroots Queenstown Heritage and Arts Festival launched in 2010, it commissions site-specific art, performance and exhibitions that respond directly to the region's industrial history, staged each October in repurposed mining infrastructure and community venues.

Queenstown, on Tasmania's rugged West Coast, built its identity around the Mount Lyell copper mine, and when the mining economy contracted and the town's population declined, a grassroots committee called Project Queenstown surveyed residents and found a strong desire for a festival that could celebrate the town's heritage rather than simply mourn its decline.
