La Strada Graz in Graz
La Strada Graz is a street theatre and contemporary circus festival, founded in 1998, that turns the squares, courtyards and old-town streets of Graz into open-air stages for roughly nine days each August. It mixes free public performances with ticketed shows at venues like Helmut-List-Halle and the Graz Opera, and since 2001 has co-produced new work with local and international artists rather than only touring existing productions.
La Strada Graz was founded in 1998 to introduce professional street theatre and puppetry to Austrian audiences, art forms that had almost no dedicated platform in the country at the time.
