World Bodypainting Festival in Klagenfurt
The World Bodypainting Festival is a live body-art competition founded in 1998 by Alex Barendregt in Seeboden, Carinthia, considered Europe's first major festival of its kind. After relocating to Portschach in 2011 and then to Goethepark in Klagenfurt in 2017, it now hosts amateur and professional body-art competitors painting live models judged across multiple categories, alongside the associated European Bodypainting Awards and a strong photography and media presence.
Alex Barendregt founded the World Bodypainting Festival in 1998 in Seeboden, Austria, staging what is considered Europe's first major bodypainting festival across a single weekend split between the neighboring Carinthian villages of Millstatt and Seeboden.
