Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz
Crossing Europe Film Festival screens roughly 180 contemporary European auteur films from more than thirty countries across six days each April in Linz. As Austria's third-largest film festival by attendance, it concentrates on socially and politically engaged filmmaking screened at a compact cluster of city-center cinemas.
Crossing Europe was founded in Linz in 2004 with a curatorial focus that hasn't shifted since: contemporary auteur cinema from across Europe, chosen specifically for engagement with the social and political realities of the countries it comes from rather than pure genre entertainment.
