Vienna Christmas Markets in Vienna
Vienna hosts more than a dozen Christmas markets each winter, led by the grand Rathausplatz Christkindlmarkt with its illuminated city hall backdrop, ice-skating trail, and giant tree gifted annually by a different Austrian province, alongside palace-courtyard and historic-quarter markets across the city, each with its own character from mulled wine stalls to handcrafted ornaments.
From mid-November through the end of December, Vienna transforms into a city of Christmas markets, with more than a dozen distinct Christkindlmärkte scattered across squares, palace courtyards, and historic streets.
