Demra Kayetpara Baul Bazar Fair in Demra/Kayetpara
A three-day fair at Kayetpara in Demra, on Dhaka's eastern edge, founded around the Baul figure Sri Sri Sudharam Baul roughly three centuries ago and known locally as 'Bauler Bazar'. Expect large crowds, fairground rides like a traditional nagordola, food stalls and craft vendors layered over a genuine Baul devotional core.
Local tradition credits a figure known as Sri Sri Sudharam Baul with founding the fair at Kayetpara, on Dhaka's eastern edge in Demra, nearly three centuries ago - the site is still known locally as 'Bauler Bazar' (Baul's Bazaar), and the three-day fair that grows around it every 29 Magh, roughly February, draws crowds reported well into six figures, making it one of the larger Baul-linked gatherings in the greater Dhaka area rather than a small village affair.
