Dhaka University's Saraswati Puja centers on Jagannath Hall, where Fine Arts Faculty students build a large idol directly in the hall's pond, surrounded by dozens of smaller puja mandaps. Parallel celebrations run at the university's women's halls, with two days of rituals, cultural programmes, prasad distribution and a blood donation drive drawing both devotees and campus visitors.
At Jagannath Hall, Dhaka University's Fine Arts Faculty students build a Saraswati idol directly in the hall's pond each year, using styrofoam, bamboo and other lightweight materials finished in the days before the puja begins.
