Dhaka's pre-Christmas fair, organized by the Catholic Archdiocese's Metropolitan Pastoral Council on the grounds of Bottomley Girls' High School since 2008, draws thousands of both Christians and non-Christians. On Christmas Day, illuminated churches in Dhaka, Chattogram and Barishal hold services and carol singing that blends Western hymns with Hindu-influenced instruments like the khol drum and korotal cymbals.

Since 2008, Dhaka's Roman Catholic Archdiocese has run a pre-Christmas fair on the grounds of Bottomley Girls' High School, an event the Metropolitan Pastoral Council opens to Christians and non-Christians alike rather than restricting it to church members.
