Ulta Rath Mela Gaibandha in Gaibandha
Gaibandha's Kalibari temple precinct hosts the town's Ulta Rath Mela, the single day a Jagannath chariot is pulled back to its temple after a week resting away. Set in Rangpur division, well off Bangladesh's main travel routes, it offers stalls of pottery, bangles, sweets and children's rides clustered around the Kali-temple grounds rather than a week-long build-up.
Gaibandha's Ulta Rath Mela is anchored at Kalibari, the town's Kali-temple precinct, and like Feni's version it marks the single day each year when a Jagannath chariot is pulled back to its home temple after a week resting away from it.
