Baul Mela Meherpur in Meherpur
A smaller, less-documented Baul devotional mela in Meherpur, western Bangladesh, part of the same regional Baul-fakir tradition as nearby Kushtia. Best treated as a quiet, community-scaled add-on for travelers already visiting Meherpur's Mujibnagar independence memorial rather than a standalone destination in its own right.
Meherpur, tucked against the Indian border in western Bangladesh, sat within the same regional network of Baul-fakir akhras (spiritual dwellings) as neighboring Kushtia during the era of the 19th-century mystic Lalon Shah, and it still hosts its own annual Baul mela, distinct from and considerably smaller than Lalon's own internationally known shrine an hour up the road.
