Minsk International Film Festival Listapad, named for the Belarusian word for November, has run since 1994 as the country's flagship international cinema event. FIAPF-accredited, it centers on films from Central and Eastern Europe alongside Asian, African and Latin American selections, awarding Golden and Silver Listapad trophies across a week of screenings spread through the capital's cinema venues each autumn.
Minsk closes out its film year each autumn with the Listapad International Film Festival, whose name comes from the Belarusian word for November, itself derived from the image of falling leaves, and whose program has run since 1994 as the country's flagship platform for international cinema.
