Brussels Short Film Festival in Brussels
An Oscar-qualifying short-film festival running since 1998, screening around 300 films across International, National and Next Generation competitions at venues including Flagey, the Vendome cinema and Cinema Galeries. Films run five to twenty minutes each, block-screened in themed sessions, making it a dense, fast-moving survey of new and Belgian directing talent rather than a feature-length showcase.
Brussels Short Film Festival has been organized since 1998 by the non-profit Un Soir Un Grain, and since 2018 it has held Oscar-qualifying status, meaning winners of its International and National Competitions become eligible for Academy Award consideration in the short-film categories.
