Halle Carnival in Halle
A three-day, community-organized carnival in Halle timed to midway through Lent, run by the local Halattraction body since 1932. The program cycles through a devil-themed evening procession, a daytime parade, a lit night parade, and a Monday sweet-throwing ritual from windows over the Grote Markt, ending in a bonfire.
Halle's carnival runs on a set weekend program built and coordinated by Halattraction, the local umbrella body that has organized an annual parade here since 1932, even though looser carnival customs in the town go back centuries earlier.
