DOCVILLE Leuven in Leuven
Belgium's only annual, competitive documentary-only film festival, running in Leuven since 2005. Around seventy to eighty nonfiction films screen across five venues over about a week, with a program built specifically around cinematography and documentary craft rather than treating film purely as journalism, drawing students, academics and nonfiction film fans alike.
DOCVILLE started in 2005 as a themed documentary series inside the Leuven arthouse cinema Cinema ZED, and it is now Belgium's only annual, competitive festival dedicated exclusively to documentary film.
