Doudou Mons in Mons
Doudou Mons, also called the Ducasse de Mons, centers on the Lumecon, a ritual half-hour combat between St George and a dragon staged on the Grand-Place after a morning procession carrying the Car d'Or, a gilded chariot bearing the shrine of Sainte Waudru. UNESCO has listed it as intangible heritage since 2008.
The Lumecon, the ritual combat between St George and a dragon that closes the Doudou in Mons, runs for roughly half an hour on Trinity Sunday afternoon, sandwiched between a slow-moving religious procession and the noisy street party that follows it.
